CENTER

     The International Center for Artistic and Academic Research on Antonin Artaud was founded by Prof. Dr. Felipe Monteiro, in August 2019, in Maceió / AL, Brazil.

     The International Center for Artistic and Academic Research on Antonin Artaud is supported by Alliance Française (Maceió/AL/Brazil) and French Embassy in Brazil and is a non-profit international, educational and artistic institution, whose main objective is to provide support and foster academic and artistic research developed by researchers and artists from across the world inspired by the life, art and legacy of Antonin Artaud and other outstanding heritage derived from the theories and practices of the performing arts.

      The objectives of the International Center for Artistic and Academic Research on Antonin Artaud are to:

 

• Encourage research on Antonin Artaud;

• Promote scholarly and artistic events aimed at disseminating and exchanging work;

• Disseminate international studies concerning all aspects of Antonin Artaud's life and art;

• Identify and promote key themes concerning Antonin Artaud on an international level;

• Publish books featuring texts written by guests and members of the Center;

• Collaborate, whenever possible, on rigorous investigations into Antonin Artaud and his academic and artistic developments;

• The additional focuses of the researchers and artists involved must be considered as other outstanding heritage derived from the theories and practices of the performing arts, which will show the importance of Artaud and provide an opportunity for comparative analysis.

 

     The International Center for Artistic and Academic Research on Antonin Artaud proposes collaborative activities. The established dialogue is synergistic, as it involves encounters between Artaudian scholars and artists. We are not looking for a consensus, but rather to persevere through and preserve differences, an indispensable condition for the emergence of new ideas. In this context, the International Center for Artistic and Academic Research on Antonin Artaud has been implementing Artaudian Embassies in different geopolitical regions and countries across the world.
